Emily Cooper has not yet said her final goodbye. Netflix confirmed that 'Emily in Paris' will return for a sixth season, indicating that Emily's trip to Rome was just a detour. However, there's still plenty left to explore in terms of her fashion mishaps and romantic entanglements. The announcement, made less than three weeks after the Season 5 release on December 18, reflects the show's enduring grip on global audiences. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Season 5 of the show garnered 26.8 million views worldwide (155 million hours divided by a running time of 5 hours and 47 minutes) in its first 11 days.

With such figures, the show topped charts in 24 countries, including France, Brazil, and Germany, and snapped the Top 10 in 91 nations overall. Emily, played by Lily Collins, will now be back home after her escape opened a satellite office for Agence Grateau and a fling with fashion heir Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini). Creator Darren Star also opened up on Emily's future and her willingness to stay in Paris permanently.

“She really chooses her own life in Paris and her work, and what she’s worked so hard to achieve," Star said. “I think ultimately that’s where her heart was, and it clarified for her the fact that she wants to be in Paris and she wants to live there, and it’s not a temporary thing.” The announcement could not have come at a better time after the season finale left us on a cliffhanger. Spoiler Alert: On one hand, Emily turned down Muratori's cashmere empire offer. On the other hand, she received a rather flirty postcard from Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), inviting her to Greece on his boss's yacht. The tension is genuine with the final episode leaving plenty of breadcrumbs in a will-they-won't-they scenario. The fans are split into a triangle. Gabriel stans cheer his postcard play, Marcello fans are sad about the Solitano snub, and Collins adds to the mix with her charm.

There is no premiere date for the new season yet. However, if we were to follow Netflix's pattern, the new season can drop in late 2026 or early 2027. The last season featured a large cast with Collins and Bravo. They were joined by staples Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, William Abadie, Lucien Laviscount, Eugenio Franceschini, Thalia Besson, Paul Forman, Arnaud Binard, Minnie Driver, Bryan Greenberg, and Michèle Laroque. We could expect to see new members such as Minnie Driver's Princess Jane and Eugenio's Marcello; however, Star would likely scout locales away from France and Italy. Plus, the last season's binge appeal (4h 35m binge runtime) stated a different opinion despite critics' eye-rolls.

What's next for Season 6? Star gave a hint, "I don’t think that Emily and Gabriel would be … I don’t think it’ll be an instant relationship, though I do believe that people can find their way back to each other." The new season could also reveal a new relationship between Gabriel and Emily, as well as Nicolas and Mindy. It will all be revealed in due time. However, we know that Star loves to keep Emily's ex-boyfriends around. Stay tuned for all the latest updates on 'Emily in Paris' new season.
