Harry Styles became the first UK male artiste with two consecutive debuts in a row at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, when his new album 'Fine Line' debuted on top of the Billboard charts last week.

His second solo album 'Fine Line' amassed 478,000 units in total — and 393,000 of those units came courtesy of traditional full-album sales from Styles' eager fans, according to the pop singer's label, Columbia Records.

The former One Direction singer’s self-titled debut album also landed at No. 1 when it came out in 2017, charting 230,000 equivalent album units.

His latest effort, 'Fine Line', which dropped on Dec 13 from Erskine/Columbia Records, earned 478,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending December 19, according to Nielsen Music.

Streaming equivalent album units tallied up to 83,000, which works out to an incredible 108.7 million on-demand audio streams for the album's songs!

Columbia also confirmed that the album had already gone to No. 1 in the following countries: Canada, Australia, Mexico, New Zealand, Ireland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Brazil, and several southeast Asian countries.

The British crooner appears to be in good company when it comes to setting number-one album records. So far, only two solo UK male acts have ever made it to No. 1 with their debut albums: Styles and his former One Direction bandmate, Zayn Malik.

The latter's debut album 'Mind of Mine' also debuted at the number-one position back in 2016.

The strong performance of 'Fine Line' on the charts means that Styles also had the biggest week for a male pop artiste in over four years (since Justin Bieber's 'Purpose') and the third-biggest opening week overall in 2019, with only superstars Taylor Swift and Post Malone charting bigger numbers.

The album 'Fine Line' also accounted for the biggest sales week by a solo male UK artiste in 27 years, since Eric Clapton’s 'Unplugged' album was released in 1992.

The Billboard 200 chart tracks the most popular albums of the week in the United States based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units.

Units are calculated from album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The complete December 28-dated chart, where 'Fine Line' debuted at No. 1, should be on Billboard's website by December 24. Looks like Harry won't just be celebrating Christmas in style this week!
