Meghan and Harry's honeymoon period is over as they struggle to 'fill the days' while living together in LA
Prince Harry is facing the same blues that his wife, Meghan Markle, was facing when she was living in the United Kingdom. Only this time, instead of a California girl being out of her element amidst the British aristocracy, it's a former prince who is feeling homesick while living in Hollywood tycoon Tyler Perry's $18 million Beverly Hills mansion in Los Angeles.
Although at the time of announcing their exit from the monarchy back in January, the Sussexes originally planned to split their time between the US. and UK. However, none of it went according to the plans when the coronavirus pandemic hit, which forced the couple to leave their temporary abode in Vancouver Island, Canada and head to LA before the international borders closed in March.
Royal expert Tom Quinn said that while Prince Charles' youngest son "doesn't hate" LA, he did not necessarily find his "role," yet, while he lived in the country. The expert further noted that one of the primary problems in their relationships has always been the fact that Harry kept getting "swept up in Meghan's positive energy."
"Harry does feel slightly lost because he is now experiencing in America what Meghan was experiencing here," said Quinn. "It's always been a problem, early on in the relationship, Meghan is a dynamo, she's full of positive energy that would sweep Harry along but once the honeymoon is over, you still have to fill the days. The news comes after London-based veteran royal photographer Arthur Edward criticized the Duchess of Sussex saying that she had 'no intention' of living in the U.K. after marrying Harry. He said that despite spending £2.4 million ($3 million) of taxpayers' money to refurbish Frogmore Cottage, Meghan's future plans did not include staying abroad.
Speaking on TalkRadio, he explained: "All that house refurbishment at Frogmore and the money that they spent on that, she had no intention of staying here.
Edward also added seeing a stark change in Duke of Sussex, whom he has been photographing since the day he was born. He said that the Duke's behavior toward the media changed in particular. "Unfortunately for the last couple of years, he has gone completely sour," he said. "He didn't talk to me for a year. I've been photographing him since he was born, and it was down to her."
And it wasn't for the lack of trying from the media's side that their relationship with Meghan never improved. Edward revealed that the media had requested to organize a meeting with the Duchess on three occasions - but it never happened. "I think the moment she married Harry it was 'right, let's get out of here as quick as we can,'" he added. "I mean, it was ridiculous."
He said that it was pretty clear from the way Meghan changed clothes and went straight to Heathrow Airport to fly to Los Angeles at the start of the pandemic suggested she "had no intention of staying in the UK." "It's not in her plans and she is dragging Harry along and unfortunately, he's gone along with it," she said.
