'Harley Quinn' Season 2 Episode 12 Preview: Harley's forced to fight Poison Ivy in a bid to save the world
Harley Quinn (Kaley Cuoco) has finally made the decision to fight for Poison Ivy's (Lake Bell) heart, unfortunately, she's first going to have to fight AGAINST Ivy, who's been brainwashed to kill her. With Doctor Psycho's (Tony Hale) designs of world domination full steam ahead, not even a released Justice League may be enough to save the day.
Doctor Psycho has unleashed hell on New New Gotham, mind-controlling Harley's abandoned Parademon Army. He's working with Darkseid (Michael Ironside), who has tasked Psycho with one task: bring him the head of Harley Quinn. In return, Psycho gets what he's always wanted - world domination under his rule. He will stop at nothing to attain his goals and to that end, he's brainwashed Ivy and set her to attack Harley.
Not only is Harley going to be pulling punches in this fight, but there is also the added threat that comes with Ivy being one of the most powerful villains in New New Gotham, one able to give even the Justice League a run for their money. The Justice League, in the meanwhile, has their hands full already, dealing with both Darkseid and the Parademons that have been invading the city; Harley's on her own. It's going to take everything she's got to get through to Ivy, though whether she can before it's too late is what remains in question.
The official synopsis for the episode catches audiences up with the most salient parts of the previous episode, reading, "Darkseid will grant Psycho the world if Psycho can prove himself by bringing him the head of Harley Quinn, the earth woman who absconded with his army without making good on her end of the deal. Psycho manages to control Ivy's mind, which results in the Justice League fighting Ivy, and the ultimate showdown: Ivy vs. Harley!"
Ivy's always been a powerful threat but the synopsis for 'Lover's Quarrel' seems to imply that Psycho's brainwashing has taken her power set to a new level if she's taking on the Justice League on her own. In terms of raw strength, Ivy is well outside of Harley's league but Harley may still have one final trick up her sleeve - the power of love.
