Spoilers for 'Harley Quinn' Season 2, Episode 13 - 'Runaway Bridesmaid'

It's never a good sign when your wedding is bombarded with knockout gas and the police force trying to arrest your entire guest list, but Kite Man (Matt Oberg) and Poison Ivy (Lake Bell) were having some problems even before Jim Gordon's (Chris Meloni) goons showed up. All's not well but ends well, as Harley Quinn (Kaley Cuoco) finally gets the happy ending she deserves, thanks to, surprisingly, none other than Kite Man himself. We take a look at the events of the chaotic finale, and just what it means for a possible Season 3.

A post-quake Gotham

After a season-long nightmare, Gotham is apparently now restored to its former glory. Despite Gordon not taking out Harley Quinn, the President has apparently seen fit to repair the city, though Gordon's actions while Gotham was a No's Man Land apparently go unrecognized. After some manipulative words from Two-Face (Andy Daly), Jim Gordon appears to have greater ambitions in mind. His attack on the wedding is not just as a cop, it's political. Jim Gordon might just be running for Mayor in Season 3, though he's going to need to catch Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, first.

Kite Man calls off the wedding

Kite Man has not had it easy, especially after the events of the last episode, where he found out that Ivy cheated on him with Harley Quinn. When the cops attack his wedding though, it's the final straw that leads Kite Man to finally admit to himself that Ivy doesn't truly love him. He saw her eyes during the wedding vows and knows that she never truly imagined a life with him, and he does what Ivy's been unable to do -- he breaks up the relationship, setting Ivy free. Ivy's attempts to boost his self-esteem finally paid off, as Kite Man realizes he deserves the best - and that's someone who loves him completely.

Ivy and Harley, together at last

No longer tied to Kite Man or her guilt over hurting him, Ivy finally lets Harley know just how much she loves her. While Harley's been aware of her feelings for a while, it took Kite Man breaking up with Ivy for her to realize where her heart truly lies. The two kiss in the aptest way possible, while on the run from the GCPD, and drive off into the sunset as partners in crime for life. With that, Season 2 has largely restored the status quo that the Season 1 finale destroyed. Gotham is rebuilt, the Justice League is returned to the world, the Joker (Alan Tudyk) is once again the Joker, but as far as Harley's personal life is concerned, everything is different. She has finally figured out what she wants, and she has it -- her pursuit of supervillain dominance is no longer her goal. Harley and Ivy have found true love with each other, and whatever challenges a potential Season 3 may bring, the pair will be facing it together.
