It was recently announced much the delight of the fans of the 1980s sitcom that the cast of 'Happy Days' is reuniting to raise money for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, the state in which the classic show was set. This led fans to wonder if the actor who played the character of Charles "Chachi" Arcola in the show will be at the event.

The list of people attached to the show set to attend the fundraiser were Henry Winkler, Ron Howard, Don Most, Anson Williams, Marion Ross and writer Lowell Ganz. The reunion would take place virtually on October 25 at 6 pm CT. Although the name of actor Scott Baio, who played the character of Chachi on the show, was missing from the initial list, event organizers said that more special guests will be announced ahead of the event. And guests were invited to donate any amount over $1 to attend. During the reunion, the cast will participate in a Q&A and share behind-the-scenes stories and more surprises.

“We’re thrilled a show made famous in Milwaukee is coming back home to help make Donald Trump a one-term President,” said Ben Wikler, chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. “We know all roads to the White House go through the Badger State, and with the cast of ‘Happy Days’ helping us raise money to take back the White House, we believe even more we can deliver a victory on Nov. 3.” Ron Howard, who played Richie Cunningham in the popular sitcom tweeted, "The most important election of our lifetimes is right around the corner and Wisconsin is a must-win swing state. So, I’m thrilled to announce a #HappyDaysReunion to support @WisDems on Oct 25. Chip in any amount to attend."

The tweet soon went viral as people wondered whether a long-time conservative and well-known Trump supporter Baio will be present for the event. "In the Happy Days reunion script, they write Chachi out of the story by saying he's away at college. Then, it's revealed to be Trump University," one of them said, while another said, "The best thing about the Happy Days reunion: No Chachi." A third commented, "This is fantastic! I always wanted Happy Days WITHOUT CHACHI anyway!!! I really want to hear Henry Winkler say 'Flush the turd on November 3rd' in the Fonz voice...."

However, there were those who hated the idea of their favorite sitcom being used for political gain. "This is so frustrating. First The Princess Bride gets co-opted for a political purpose and now Happy Days. I’m truly 100% fine with actors speaking their own minds, but I wish you’d leave our memories of shows we loved alone," one said, while another remarked, "At some point, you may realize that Americans keep fictional characters fictional. And real issues impacting American lives will not be toyed with by fictional people who lived in a fictional world." Another complained, "I had respect for you but not anymore.. make movies and stay out of politics"
