'We are devastated'
Following their refusal to turn up their canines to authorities, the couple was later detained on suspicion of hindering government activities. They were taken into custody and released after bonding out of the Sebastian County Detention Center. "We are devastated," Holly Simon wrote previously.
The Harmons are co-owners of Harmon Real Estate Company and parents of three children: Audrey, Joshua, and Eva. They got hitched in May 2016 after becoming friends while competing for Carl Albert State College in Oklahoma as per the Daily Mail.
'We are still living in this nightmare'
Although as per a report, one of the black dogs was euthanized and the white dog remains loose and has been terrorizing the Simon family. "We are still living in this nightmare with no relief as of the time I’m posting this. We are still in threat, fear of imminent danger to our personal safety, Holly further shared. She alleged, "Fort Smith prosecuting attorney Rita Watkins wouldn’t issue the warrant the police wanted so we can rest from the trauma & try to pick up the pieces." Simons would later come to know that Watkins was close allegedly close to the realtor's family. "We were left without answers as to why. The next day is when we found out about her friendship with the owners."
'It was concerning to me that it seemed like nothing was being done'
The report stated the locals have now started to assure Watkins of protecting the canines and that calls for her resignation have also grown. The Fort Smith Position 5 City Directo Christina Catsavis is also calling her to step down. "I believe she is unwilling to work with other agencies to work to a solution. It was concerning to me that it seemed like nothing was being done."
The Harmons as per the report were ordered to 'quarantine' the white dog, however, Simons has alleged in a video proof that this wants the case with Hannah refuting the allegations. Holy even claimed that the Sergeant had expressed concerns and told Watkins that if dogs are set loose again they "could bring severe injury to a human" besides having the ability to injure or kill large animals.
Holy detailed the experience revealing she even peed her pants while chasing the dogs and collapsing in front of the owner's house. "On Monday, April 10th at around 11:20 am, Mia rushed from the back of the house into the library where Abigail and I were sitting and said “It sounds like Maple is right outside the house” I jumped up, opened the front door & immediately recognized the very loud, abnormal cries of Oats." She added, "We all 3 ran through the house to the back & out to the edge of our pool over looking the lower valley."
"Mia screamed “There are dogs” and took off running, Abigail bolting behind her. I started after the girls screaming when I saw the 2 dogs, mauling and drowning a cow on the far side of the bank. by the time I got through the gate & halfway down the hill, Mia was already rounding the pond. that’s when I saw Maple lifeless, floating in the middle." She added, "Mia ran down the bank screaming, violently waving and when she was within 15 feet, the Pit Bull let go and took off running, followed by the second dog.|
'I collapsed in front of the owner's house & peed my pants'
Further writing about the heartbreaking incident Holly said, "Mia ran back up to the crest of the bank hill so she could see where they were going. I continued screaming for help as loud constantly for anyone who could hear me to come help us." Holly continued, "Called 911. Kept running. screaming and chasing the route all the way until we reached the road & I collapsed in front of the owner's house & peed my pants. The woman had already pulled the dogs in & locked the doors. starting the next 3 hours of this nightmare for my family." Mia and Abagail, aged 13 and 14 are her two daughters.
