'Grey's Anatomy' Season 16: Will Miranda Bailey have a change of heart and let Meredith Grey return to the hospital?
The latest plot twist in TV's longest-running medical drama 'Grey's Anatomy' seems to be Meredith Grey's exit from the Grey Sloan Hospital following her insurance fraud. However, ever since she left the hospital, patients and doctors couldn't help but feel her absence as the best surgeon around.
Titled 'Reunion', episode three presents an incident where an old patient comes back to realize that her favorite doctor has been fired. Even as Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington) tries to explain how she would take care of her as well as Meredith would have, she doesn't want the treatment.
Gregory tells Jo, "Young lady, my answer is no. Just let me be. Either get me Meredith Grey or just check me out of her and just let me live my life till I die."
Only when Jo gets permission from Bailey to get Meredith on video chat does she comply: "Miss Gregory. I have permission to allow Miss Grey to supervise the surgery virtually." Meredith assures her patient: "You can have me on video chat so I can see every move Karev is taking."
However, after the surgery is successful, Bailey is quick to immediately disconnect Meredith's call. It seems difficult that Bailey will back down as she is in no mood to let Meredith step foot in the hospital.
Towards the end of the episode, Dahlia Quadri (Sophia Ali) questions Bailey's decision and tells her, "Guess how many residents came here for Meredith? We didn't come for anyone else. But Meredith. And I came here to watch Meredith on a TV screen."
Bailey reacts strongly and fires her. "Work somewhere else. You're fired, Doctor Quadri. Now, you and Meredith have something in common."
However, fans too wish to see her back in the hospital. As the fourth episode airs on Thursday, October 17, on ABC, we will see if Bailey has a slight change in her heart.
