'Grey's Anatomy' Season 16 Episode 7: 'Don't make Owen the father!' Fans beg Shonda Rhimes to keep Amelia and Link together
'Grey's Anatomy' Season 16 went on a midseason break and as expected, the fall finale dropped some major shockers. At the beginning of the episode, Amelia and Link could be seen in their love nest but in the end, Amelia ended up being confused about the identity of the real father of her baby.
After avoiding it for a long time, when Amelia finally went for her ultrasound, Carina told her that she is not 20 weeks pregnant but 24 weeks pregnant. Does that mean the baby could be Owen's? If that turns out to be true, it will be a major setback for the happy couple, Amelia and Link.
Fans are hellbent on digging up clues on how it could not be Owen's baby. "I swear if they make this baby Owen’s I’m gonna flip #amelink was the only new couple on the show that I liked and they gonna go and ruin it!" one fan wrote and another said, "Owen being the father of Amelia’s baby would be the most ridiculous storyline." Another fan posted, "Literally Amelia said in 15x15 that her and Owen weren't having any sex. And from then on they weren't getting along. There's no way its Owen's baby. Noo fckn way."
Some of them are literally begging the creator Shonda Rhimes to let Link be the father. "Shonda I beg of you can you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON'T make Owen the father of Amelia's baby," one viewer posted. "I don't know who hurt Shonda in her life but darn it STOP torturing us. It can't be Owen's baby I AM BEGGING YOU!!!!" one tweet read and another said, "I will sue Shonda and ABC if that baby is Owen's, on god!"
"I love Owen but I hope the baby is NOT his. Amelia & Link need to have this baby," one fan said. Meanwhile, one fan was calm about the storyline and said, "We, as viewers, will think Amelia’s baby is Owen’s based on her reaction to how far along she is. End the end, I think the baby will be Link’s, but Amelia and he will go through angst and we won’t find this out until the season finale."
As the show returns after a long wait, it will be interesting to see whether the baby turns out to be Owen's or Link's. Episode 10 of 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 16 will return on Thursday, January 23 on ABC at 7\8c.
