Greta Thunberg out-trolls Trump, changes her Twitter bio to 'a very happy young girl' in response to his sarcastic tweet

Contrary to Trump's mocking observation of Thunberg's demeanor during the delivery of her speech, the teenager looked anything but happy. In fact, her temperament verged on furious and at times tears welled up in her eyes.

The 16-year-old Greta Thunberg's passionate speech at the United Nations Climate Action Summit on Monday, fearlessly warning some of the biggest world leaders of our time that they were not doing as much as they should to stop climate change, moved the hearts of thousands on social media, but it rubbed the most powerful man on the planet, President Donald Trump, the wrong way. And he took to Twitter later to mock the teenager with a sarcastic comment.

"She seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see!" he wrote while retweeting Wired's coverage of Greta's speech, which partly quoted her as saying, "People are suffering, people are dying, entire ecosystems are collapsing. We are in the beginning of a mass extinction and all you can talk about is money and fairytales of eternal economic growth."

Contrary to Trump's mocking observation of Thunberg's demeanor during the delivery of her speech, the teenager looked anything but happy. In fact, her temperament verged on furious and at times tears welled in her eyes. She also never gave an indication that she was looking forward to a bright future, explicitly blaming the world leaders of stealing her future.

"How dare you! For more than 30 years the science has been crystal clear. How dare you continue to look away and come here saying that you're doing enough when the politics and solutions needed are still nowhere in sight," she told them, accusing them of caring more about money and economic growth than about the collapsing ecosystems of the world.

Although the POTUS did not think twice before publicly trolling a teenager, Thunberg chose to take the high road and not reply to Trump's tweet. But proving she would not stand down she adopted the president's tweet into her Twitter bio.

Her bio presently reads: "@GretaThunberg A very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future."

After White House press secretary said Trump probably wouldn't have time to drop by the summit, he did make an unexpected appearance for 10 minutes. As he interacted briefly with the reporters, Thunberg was caught on camera glaring furiously at him.
