If it was Derek Carr who ripped the New Orleans Saints a week earlier, it was Aaron Rodgers on Sunday, September 27, as the Green Bay Packers sealed a 37-30 win over the hosts in Week 3. The play was big and boisterous as he connected beautifully and also had the perfect foil in Allen Lazard. With this, it has been three good outings for the Packers as they are now 3-0 and on top of the points table. The 36-year-old threw three touchdowns at crunch moments to deliver the win.

In many ways, the performance was reminiscent of the old Rodgers who is touted to be part of the Packers' future Hall of Famers. His best move came with four minutes left in the game when he drew two penalties putting the packers in the red zone. Adding to this were the perfect gameplays chalked up by Matt LaFleur. While Alvin Kamara was a headache for the Packers, they did manage to run away with a win. Ahead of the game, Rodgers's performance was a topic of discussion with pundits wondering if he could pull off another stunner. And judging by the end result, he has.

Twitterati had their thoughts on his evening as well. Earlier in the day, Russell Wilson's scintillating performance did the trick for the Seattle Seahawks and his outing was lauded along with the veteran Packers QB. "@aaronrodgers12 is one beautiful American football player. Seeing him and @DangeRussWilson do their thing is a thing of beauty. Simply the s. #NFL @Seahawks @packers," read one of the tweets.

One of the fans compared Saints quarterback, Drew Brees's performance as well and outlined how Rodgers outplayed him. "Aaron Rodgers outdueled Drew Brees just by a hair. They both had great games without their best receivers. Rodgers showed nerves of steel in the Superdome, one of the hardest stadiums to win at. Brees is lethal in that place."

This could also mean Rodgers could work his way up to be an MVP candidate should his impressive season continue. "How about them Packers?! Russell Wilson is the MVP favorite hands down. Aaron Rodgers is looking real nice though and may sneak in the race if he keeps playing like this," a fan commented.

It has been a start to remember for Rodgers as he demolished the Minnesota Vikings by passing for 364 yards and scoring four touchdowns in their 43-34 win at the start of the season. He had another brilliant game in the Packers' 42-21 win where he was 18 of 30 for 240 yards and two touchdowns. It's clear Rodgers has hit a purple patch and is well on his way to pushing the Packers to do better by the game. The side will be counting on him when they take on the Atlanta Falcons on Monday, October 5, 2020.
