If you are interested to peep into his fascinating life and history, watch the three-part miniseries 'Grant'. Produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and directed by Malcolm Venville, it sheds light on acts of violence during the American Civil War. The official synopsis reads, "At the time of his death, Ulysses S Grant was the most famous man in the world and stood alongside men like George Washington and Abraham Lincoln in the pantheon of American heroes.

Justin Salinger is a British actor who graduated from Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 1996. Apart from 'Grant' — where he plays the lead role — Salinger is known for his work in 'Enduring Love' (2004), 'Everest' (2015) and 'Brimstone' (2016). The actor plays the president of the United States who served from 1869 to 1877. An exceptional soldier, he led the Union Army as Commanding General of the United States Army in winning the American Civil War.

Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, the actor got his break after quite a bit of struggle. Did you know he used to work as an artist on set in 'The Dark Tower', 'Black Mirror', 'Blood Drive' and 'Troy'? In 2018, he finally got his break and will now be seen in shows like 'Professionals', 'Prisoner 760' and 'Grant', where he plays Young Sentinel.

The actor is known for his work on 'Hum' (2016), 'The Salvation' (2014) and 'Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom' (2013). In recent times, he has shot for projects like 'Vagrant Queen', 'The Last Days of American Crime', 'Commando', 'Ekstra Medium', 'Raised by Wolves' and 'Gaia'. In 'Grant', he essays the role of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States. Lincoln was impressed with the charisma of Grant after the Battle of Shiloh and the Vicksburg campaign. When he was criticized, Lincoln said in his support, "I can't spare this man. He fights." 

Apart from them, you'll also see Brian Heydenrych as Robert E. Lee, Francis Chouler as John Rawlins, Gabriel Harry Meltz as Grant Staff Officer, Craig Jackson as General Halleck, Dianne Simpson as Julia Grant and Camilla Wolfson as Young Julia. Not just that, 'Grant' features on-camera interviews with top experts in the field including Ron Chernow, retired United States Army General and former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) director David Petraeus, acclaimed author and journalist Ta-Nehisi Coates and professor of English at West Point Elizabeth Samet.

The miniseries will premiere on Memorial Day and air over three consecutive nights beginning Monday, May 25 at 9 pm ET on History Channel.
