It seems like quarantine is not going well for Gordon Ramsay, who has revealed that he feels like a kitchen slave when it comes to cooking for his constantly hungry kids - Meghan, 21, twins Holly and Jack, 20, Tilly, 17 and baby Oscar, who turns one this month.

The celebrity chef described his life in quarantine as a "living nightmare" as he struggles to cook for his five "ravenous" children.

“Being stuck in my house with these five ravenous kids is a living nightmare. Can you please tell me when all of this will end? Every single day is the same. I'm the resident kitchen porter, working my fingers to the bone.

“I have honestly cooked more food in the past ten days than I have in the past 10 years of my career,” the Michelin stars awardee said while making an appearance with Roman Kemp on Capital Breakfast.

The television personality and food critic is currently practicing social distancing with his wife, Tana, and their five children at their $4.91 million holiday home in Cornwall.

During the show, Ramsay also mentioned that life in his house is “mayhem” as he gets requests for different meals from different children, including Oscar, who was born in April 2019.

He told Kemp: “It is insane. The kids look at me in the morning and say ‘Dad what’s for breakfast’, ‘porridge,’ ‘and what about lunch, I like those sort of quesadillas’, ‘Can we have butter chicken for dinner? It’s insane. Yesterday they said, ‘Do you mind going down to the butchers to get a pound of lamb mince for Oscar’s shepherd’s pie?'”

“Honestly, except that they don’t sort of get up, it’s not, ‘Will you do the dishes?’ it’s just ‘Can you load the dishwasher?’ Even that is hard work for these guys.
“Oscar sort of gets up around 6, and then the three girls, they get up around 6 in the evening. They are not good at getting up in the morning, I don’t know why,” the 53-year-old added.

Ramsay also joked that his only daily ‘escape’ from all the household work is when he goes out for his run each morning. “As soon as I get up in the morning, I'm off down to the local butchers to buy some meat for their dinner. When I get home, I make breakfast straight away. After that, I'm back over the stove cooking lunch.

"After they have gobbled up their grub, I try to escape for a quick run every day just to get away, and after that, I'm back in the kitchen making bloody dinner again. I swear that I have blisters on my bloody hands from cooking so much,” he stated.

However, he also admitted that though he is frustrated with all the work, he's been eating better than he ever has during his time in quarantine.

The celeb chef continued, "We have been eating so well. Now that I have all the time in the world, I have the opportunity to put even more effort into it. We've had some of the best curries of our lives, and I've been able to curate some fantastic new recipes. So I guess it's not all that bad actually."

This comes soon after Ramsay faced a lot of criticism after he terminated more than 500 staff at his London restaurants due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He announced that he would be temporarily closing down his restaurants to help prevent the spread of the deadly virus.

One of his staff members, chef Anca Torpuc, even called him a 'piece of 's***' for his decision. Taking to Facebook, the 28-year-old said, “I'm not talking about one person here, over 500 people lost their jobs yesterday so all I can say is thank you @gordongram @gordonramsayrestaurants I hope you sleep well at night knowing that so many people don't have a job in this difficult time because of you.”
