Good samaritan drives across country to reunite cancer-stricken 8-year-old boy with his beloved dog
When eight-year-old Perryn Miller from North Carolina was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer while holidaying with his family in Utah, all he wanted during the trying times was the company of his German Shepherd who was back home.
Perryn’s story, which circulated on social media, soon reached the eyes of former truck driver Bob Reynolds, who decided to fulfil the child's wish to be reunited with his pet and offered to drive the canine across the country, a journey of around 2,300 miles.
Perryn, his mother and father, and his younger brother, left their home in Wilmington to spend the Christmas holidays in Utah. While there the 8-year-old was diagnosed with Stage 4 glioblastoma multiforme, a rare, aggressive cancer in children, KUTV reports.
