A man who stopped to help a car crash victim on a bridge in California lost his life after he jumped off it to avoid another crash that happened at that time.
According to reports, 48-year-old Robert Verlin Bruno Jr. fell to his death on Wednesday from the Nello Irwin Greer Memorial Bridge in San Diego, where he had stopped to help a crash victim.
California Highway Patrol Officer Travis Garrow said that at about 5:15 am, a man who was driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck crashed into the side of the bridge.
Fox 5 reported that this is when Bruno got out of his Subaru Outback at the scene of the crash so that he could help the man.
