'Gold Rush: White Water' Season 3 Episode 7 promo shows both crews have narrow escapes, ecstatic Dustin finds 'nuggets everywhere'

In the video, we see Dustin saying, “What James and I were doing is dangerous.” We don’t, however, see what that was. On the other hand, Paul told Fred’s crew, “We’re all lucky that we’re standing here right now,” indicating something almost fatal had happened

Episode 6 of the Discovery Channel docu-series ‘Gold Rush: White Water’ Season 3 saw Dustin face disappointment. Even as he found a small cave behind the waterfall -- possibly “the gold hiding place of the century” -- his luck turned sour when the crew discovered it had a slope.

Any gold could have easily not accumulated there given its angle. A look at the dredges confirmed their worst fears: no gold. Aside from the gold disappointment, Dustin had other drama going on. His best friend Paul (part of Fred’s crew) was engaged to his step-sister Kayla.

Earlier in the season, Dustin, a believer that this was no place for women, had a fight with him and had an eventual falling out. Now, when Paul and Kayla were getting married, Dustin did not want to be part of the wedding. And Paul was visibly disappointed that Dustin did not show up.

Perhaps the next episode will delve more into that. In the after-show promo video for episode 7, we see both teams face huge risks. While ‘Dakota’ Fred’s crew -- featuring the newlyweds Paul and Kayla -- almost got hit by falling rocks, Dustin’s crew faced underwater technical difficulties.

In the video, we see Dustin saying, “What James and I were doing is dangerous.” We don’t, however, see what that was. On the other hand, Paul told Fred’s crew, “We’re all lucky that we’re standing here right now,” indicating something almost fatal had happened.

It is unclear if this was in reference to just the falling rocks or whether the crew had encountered something more calamitous. But we also see Dustin’s luck finally turning for the better. Wess Richardson could be seen saying, “There’s gold here. There’s gold there. What are the chances of that.”

The camera also showed giant chunks of gold accumulated in their dredges. At the end of the promo, we see an ecstatic Dustin proclaiming, “There’s like nuggets everywhere,” before shouting out in joy!

‘Gold Rush: White Water’ Season 3 airs on the Discovery Channel every Sunday at 10 p.m. ET.
