Glenn Greenwald calls Media Matters founder David Brock a 'craven, deceitful and amoral scumbag'
WASHINGTON, DC: Elon Musk labeled Media Matters as "pure evil," vowing to unleash a "thermonuclear lawsuit" against the liberal watchdog group. This came after Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Glenn Greenwald asserted that Media Matters "was created, shaped and governed for a long time by David Brock," a seasoned Clinton operative.
Greenwald did not mince words in his condemnation of Brock, stating that he is "arguably the single most craven, deceitful, and amoral scumbag DC politics has ever seen." He added, "There was no way for anything decent to be spawned from that rotted root."
I think sometimes people forget that Media Matters was created, shaped and governed for a long time by David Brock, arguably the single most craven, deceitful and amoral scumbag DC politics has ever seen.

Social media reactions
Social media platforms buzzed with agreement as users echoed Greenwald's sentiments.
"And he dated the Pizzagate guy for a while. Is there more to David Brock?" one posted on X, referring to Comet Ping Pong owner James Alefantis.
The user was talking about the “Pizzagate” conspiracy theory that a group of powerful Democrats were running a child sex trafficking ring out of the aforementioned pizza restaurant.
"Funny how everyone nefarious has ties to Clinton and or Soros," another wrote.
"I am so disgusted with DC as a whole," someone else noted.
"The guy who founded Media Matters is a Clinton devotee. His head's on a swivel now that the heat is on," another added.

Who is David Brock?
Brock, an American liberal political consultant, author, and commentator, initially made waves as a right-wing investigative reporter during the 1990s. Notably, he authored 'The Real Anita Hill', a book that delved into the Troopergate story, ultimately leading to Paula Jones filing a lawsuit against then-President Bill Clinton.
In the late 1990s, Brock underwent a notable political transformation, aligning himself more closely with the Democratic Party, particularly the Clintons. This shift marked his transition into an avid and loyal supporter of the Clinton family.
In 2004, Brock founded Media Matters for America, a non-profit organization describing itself as a "progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media."
After Brock's departure from Media Matters in November 2022, he founded Facts First USA, a 501(c)(4) group explicitly designed to counter Republican-led congressional investigations, showcasing his unyielding commitment to his newfound political ideology.
Brock has been particularly critical of House Oversight Committee Rep James Comer's investigations into President Joe Biden, focusing on foreign business transactions involving Biden and his family.
The Musk - Media Matters feud
The contentious back and forth between Elon Musk and Media Matters escalated last week when Elon Musk endorsed a controversial statement on a social media platform, earning praise from a user.
This endorsement coincided with Media Matters releasing a study highlighting major companies' ads appearing alongside posts featuring neo-Nazi and antisemitic rhetoric on the platform. Notable advertisers, including Apple, Disney, IBM, Sony, Paramount, and Warner Brothers Discovery, swiftly withdrew their ads.
Musk, undeterred by the backlash, responded with a threat of a "thermonuclear lawsuit" against Media Matters, asserting that the organization is "pure evil." Despite the strong rhetoric, no legal action had been taken as of Monday afternoon. In response, Media Matters issued a statement condemning Musk's threats as "meritless lawsuits" and labeled him a "bully."
