It's a girl! 'Counting On' star Joe Duggar and wife Kendra reveal gender of their second child expected in November
Joe Duggar and his wife Kendra Duggar have revealed that they are going to have a baby girl which also means that their son Garrett David will soon have a sister.
The 'Counting On' stars revealed on Tuesday that the baby girl is expected in November.
The couple took to Instagram to share, "We are so excited to announce the gender of baby number #2 ….It’s a GIRL🎉💝We are so thrilled to welcome our sweet baby girl this November!"
The announcement also included a picture of 20-year-old Kendra who was happily holding onto a pink onesie with the number two on it while 24-year-old Joseph was seen cuddling their one-year-old son Garrett who had worn a blue shirt with a number one on it.
The Duggar family website said that one-year-old Garrett was the first to reveal the gender of the baby all thanks to a "smash cake" at his first birthday party which had pink frosting in the middle.
"Parenting has already proven to be more wonderful than we could have dreamed. Even though we come from large families, there is nothing like having your own children. We are so thrilled that a little girl will be joining our family! Garrett is going to be such a great big brother," Kendra said in a statement on the website.
She also added that she had sought some advice from Joseph's sister and mother-of-three, Jessa Seewald, 26, on how to adjust as a mother to more than one baby.
The news of their daughter came on the same day that Joseph's brother Josiah revealed that he and his wife Lauren are also expecting a baby girl.
Joseph and Kendra had tied the knot in September 2017 and announced in April that they were expecting their second baby together.
In a video, Kendra shared, "When I found out that we were expecting, at first I was really shocked and then I was super excited and then I just couldn’t believe it was really happening. It was so many emotions. We are so thrilled."
The pair had also celebrated Garrett's first birthday earlier this month with a sweet Instagram message. "You have brought so much joy just seeing you explore all of the firsts in life! You love to explore with your little fingers, little hands and little feet," the post read.
"We love you so much 💙We know you will be such a good big brother to our new addition this November!" the post continued.
