Ghislaine Maxwell hosts etiquette classes in prison, teaches women to maintain 'high moral' standards
TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA: After being sentenced to 20 years in June 2022, Ghislaine Maxwell is hosting etiquette classes at her Florida prison to preach about women's empowerment and the need to "maintain high moral standards." The disgraced socialite, 52, was found guilty of sex trafficking a minor and four girls for her late pedophile boyfriend Jeffrey Epstein to degrade and sexually abuse. It appears that Maxwell is leaving her past behind and reinventing herself as a female role model.
Maxwell holds classes twice a week for up to 40 inmates, the DailyMail reported. Sources confirm that the four-week program teaches good manners, how to talk and dress, along with job interview ethics. "Taught by Mrs. Maxwell this course teaches the three principles of etiquette – focusing on respect, consideration, and honesty," read a flyer pinned up inside the Federal Correctional Institution in Tallahassee, Florida. The former Oxford student also emphasizes following powerful female figures such as Hilary Clinton whose presidential bid is an example of how women can "smash the glass ceiling."

The course also includes the First Step Act, meaning inmates including drug pushers, white-collar criminals and convicted murderers can get up to 15 days off their sentences by attending, as per the outlet. The sessions are being hosted in English and Spanish, with the help of a Colombian inmate who is acting as a translator for the prison's Hispanic population.
"It's less about balancing books on heads and being ladylike, and more about having confidence in yourself – how to behave and talk in a professional manner, the secrets of success in the corporate world, that sort of thing," said the insider to the outlet. "Miss Maxwell's message is, so what if you're a woman and a convicted felon, you're not a second-class citizen. She's an unlikely role model but she's very passionate about this."
Maxwell's course was conducted once before from December 5 to 30 and considering its popularity a second round of lessons has been approved by prison authorities to commence soon, the outlet’s source added. The British convict is also teaching a yoga class. She also works in the prison library in order to help the 755-strong female population to pick out books and periodicals. On the other hand, Maxwell is allowed to access an enviable array of sporting facilities which includes a 400-meter running track.
During her sentencing back in June 2022, Maxwell stood up to speak in court and addressed the victims directly. She appeared to have empathy for the young girls and hoped they could now look forward and not back. "I'm sorry for the pain you have experienced," she said, as per BBC. She further expressed that she wanted to acknowledge their suffering and declared her association with Epstein as the greatest regret of her life. "My association with Epstein will permanently stain me."
Maxwell was found guilty of five out of the six charges in her trials which include sex trafficking a minor, transporting a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, and three counts of conspiracy after a federal trial in New York heard that she lured girls as young as 14 with intent to engage in illegal sexual activity, as per the RollingStone.
