Georgia teen commits suicide after accidentally shooting and killing friend while showing off loaded handgun
Police identified the victims from the shooting as 15-year-old Devin Hodges and 17-year-old Chad Carless, both from Lawrenceville
A tragic accident that unfolded hours before New Year's in suburban Atlanta saw a teenager accidentally shoot and kill his friend, and then commit suicide after being racked with guilt. Two other teenagers who were also at the scene were unhurt.
According to the Gwinnett Daily Post, officers from the Gwinnett Police Department responded to Riverlanding Circle in Lawrenceville at about 3:15 pm on Monday, 31 December, after receiving a 911 call from one of the teens who reported that his friend had been shot.
