In her recent claim, Davis alleged that at the time of their ceremony, an issue occurred with their marriage license and that the paperwork was allegedly never filed properly. She alleged that they did not return the license to the court clerk and because of that her marriage was never legal. She claims that under the New York law her marriage isn't legal and hence there is no room for a divorce.
This statement comes after Jarrahy asked her for spousal support in his divorce petition that he filed on Tuesday. He also filed the papers under Rob Doe vs Veronica Doe and did not use his real name. It has been confirmed that Rob and Veronica are Reza and Geena respectively.
TMZ also reported that Jarrahy does not agree with Geena's perspective and thinks the marriage was very real right from the beginning. In spite of any issues with the license, he is said to believe that the knot was valid. A source close to Jarrahy said that if Geena's claims go through, their children would fall under the "illegitimate" category and it would be very upsetting.
Geena's lawyer, Peter Lauzon confirmed that Geena is not happy with someone close to Jarrahy using the term "illegitimate" to describe their children. Her attorney said that it was an ancient term that wasn't fit for the society of today.
