LONDON, ENGLAND: A fun, touching and delightful teen drama has finally arrived on Netflix. Adapted from Holly Smale's young adult novel of the same name, 'Geek Girl' tells the story of an awkward teenager who unexpectedly becomes a model.

The series introduces Emily Carey in the lead role of Harriet Manners. She is joined by Sarah Parish, Tim Downie, Emmanuel Imani, Liam Woodrum and Jemima Rooper in pivotal roles.

The ten-episode British-Canadian series made its debut on Netflix on May 30, 2024, and became an instant hit among fans.

The engaging narrative of 'Geek Girl' enables viewers to have a binging spree. Having finished the entire series in a day, fans have taken to the micro-blogging site, X, to share their opinions.

An X user said, "Finished geek girl on Netflix that was actually good. Like the neurodivergent representation ate so bad I want to see more fashion next season. Also the black ppl in the show made this so much better."

"So yea I watched this whole show this morning all 10 episodes because yes it was that good once you start watching it you won't stop watching. I promise this won't disappoint you I highly recommend it," added another fan impressed by the Netflix series.



 



 

Weighing the good and bad of 'Geek Girl', someone tweeted, "Watched Geek Girl last night, which centers a neurodivergent lead. Despite some nonsensical plot elements, and obv not being the target audience, I very much enjoyed it. Really liked the Wilbur character played by Emmanuel Imani."

Giving an exemplary rating to the teenage drama series, an X user said, "I enjoyed this so so much. And how it highlights neurodivergent emotions and people and their capabilities! A 10 from me!"

After binge-watching the ten episodes, fans simply can't get enough of 'Geek Girl' and want more of it. Demanding another season of the series, a fan tweeted, "I need Netflix to not f***k up for once and not cancel Geek Girl cause I am OBSESSED."



 

Another obsessed fan said, "I need another season of geek girl and I need it now."

"Why did netflix not promote geek girl properly if they cancel it ill be so vexed," reads a similar tweet.



 



 

Will there be 'Geek Girl' Season 2?

Currently, Netflix has made no announcement of 'Geek Girl' being renewed for another season.

However, upon witnessing the craze for the series on its debut, we can speculate its renewal, especially since there's a lot of source material available to take the narrative forward.

Holly Smale has penned a total of 6 books in the 'Geek Girl' series and we hope that Netflix considers the demand of the fans.
