LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga' hits the theaters on May 23, 2024, and the George Miller directorial is the origin story of Furiosa before the events of 2015 hit 'Mad Max: Fury Road'. The movie stars Anya Taylor-Joy as Furiosa.

Also starring in the film is popular actor Chris Hemsworth who has earned himself a reputation for being one of the most bankable stars in Hollywood. In 'Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga', Chris plays the character of warlord Dementus, who is the leader of a bike horde. The charismatic performer embraces this antagonistic role and if the early glimpses are anything to suggest, we are in for a legendary performance.

Chris Hemsworth rose to prominence when he played the role of Kim Hyde in the Australian series 'Home and Away'. It wasn't too long before he would jump over to Hollywood delivering one blockbuster after another.

Here is a look at his 5 best films before 'Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga' releases.

1. 'Rush' (2013)

'Rush' which was released in 2013, chronicled the rivalry between Formula 1 drivers James Hunt, played brilliantly by Hemsworth, and Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl). The film is set in 1976 and is about both drivers willing to risk it all to win that year's championship.

Chris Hemsworth played a handsome James Hunt who lived a flamboyant lifestyle. His character arc saw him become more serious about the sport as he goes up against a methodical rival in Niki Lauda.

The film went above and beyond the definitions of a sports biopic and told a personal story of two of the best in the business and their contrasting styles.

2. 'Thor: Ragnarok' (2017)

The movie went on to gross $855,301,806 becoming a big blockbuster and catapulting Hemsworth's career into film stratosphere.

The film goes on to reveal more details about the killers and tests their fortitude as some of them get killed and some survive.

Hemsworth proved his acting chops in this one as he portrayed a reserved and confident Curt who could hold a film together with his performance and as the main man of the film.

4. Avengers: Endgame (2019)

The film gave Chris Hemsworth his 'I'm still worthy' line. 'Avengers: Endgame' happens after the events of 'Avengers: Infinity War' as Chris reprises his role of Thor.

The film required him to go through a complete character arc from a defeated and indifferent man to the legend that we know Thor to be as they take on the powerful supervillain Thanos (Josh Brolin).

Chris Hemsworth stood out in his role against an array of legends and came out of the film a bigger star.
