'The Queen's Gambit' took the world by storm when the mini-series featuring Anya Taylor-Joy was released on Netflix in 2020. It featured Anya in the role of Beth Harmon.

Anya Taylor-Joy carried the series on her back as a young chess prodigy who would take on the best in the world and smash patriarchy while doing so.

Throughout the series' seven episodes, Anya's character goes through a varied range of emotions and she delivers each one of them brilliantly performing best in the scenes where she is stressed during a game of chess.

Anya Taylor-Joy plays the role of Olga of the Birch Forest. Her occultist character is a worshipper of the Earth Gods in the Robert Eggers film. This was her second collaboration with the director after 'The Witch' in 2015.

Her character is a cerebral strategist and she is as scary as she is sinister when she wants to be. She delved deep into her character and while she wasn't the main lead of the film, her character stood out and is remembered by those who have seen the film.

3. 'Amsterdam' (2022)

'Amsterdam' is a period mystery film that featured some of the best actors of our time like Margot Robbie, Rami Malek, and Christian Bale, among others. But in her role as Libby Voze, she created a lasting impression of her own.

The movie directed by David O Russell was met with mixed reviews but Anya Taylor-Joy's performance was praised unanimously for her subtle portrayal of the character.

In 'The Menu', Anya Taylor-Joy impressed us audiences by how unimpressed she was in the film. Her performance in this film was essential to the comic element that this thriller had.

The film tells the story of a chef who has wicked plans for those who have come to taste his delicacies. Anya plays the character of Margot who accompanies Tyler (Nicholas Hoult) far and wide to taste a special dish.

5. 'Emma' (2020)

Anya Taylor-Joy plays the iconic character of Emma Woodhouse in the Jane Austen classic 'Emma'. She delivers a performance with grace and panache.

Many actresses have performed the character but she manages to bring in her interpretation with a restrained yet nuanced portrayal of a character that is all about finding her love.
