Why the only 'Good Trouble' for 2 seasons has been the romance between Davia and Dennis despite the slow burn

Not only did Davia and Dennis grow as individuals, but their development was parallel to their relationship, which attained better clarity with each passing episode

It wouldn't be wrong to say that Davia Boheme (Emma Hunton) and Dennis Cooper's (Josh Pence) undefined relationship ached us the most throughout the two seasons of Freeform's 'Good Trouble'.

The otherwise fun-filled characters constantly bickered over inexplicable reasons, and it got to a point where viewers wished they were written off, as they hoped no miracle takes place in their never sailing ship.

However, as the series progressed, not only did Davia and Dennis grow as individuals, but the development was parallel to their relationship, which attained better clarity with each passing episode.

The second season of 'The Fosters' spin-off, which teased us with Dennis and Davia's story throughout, concluded on a rather emotional note, as it showed Dennis express his love for Davia, leading to them finally locking their lips.

Although the new relationship is ripe for discussion, we couldn’t help but wonder how Dennis and Davia have been the only good trouble all along.

While every resident of the Coterie was seen struggling to come to terms with their feelings for their significant other at some point in time, the Davia and Dennis ship remained intact, though it didn’t sail until the end. However, their relationship was packed with crucial lessons and made us believe in true love.

Even if the romance is set aside, as individuals, Davia and Dennis evoked empathy in us. Watching Davia go to hell and back to be with Dennis and the latter’s patient which remained intact while she strayed away for a moment or two looking for booty calls, only made us pity them more.

And then there's the relatability factor, which played a key role in bringing attention to these two characters.

While Davia's approach towards body image issues made us feel comfortable in our own skin, Dennis' inability to cope with his son's loss shows how it's alright to be bogged down by demons within, emphasizing the importance of seeking help for the same without being ashamed.

It would be unfair to not take notice of their friendship, which despite several hiccups develops into a beautiful romantic relationship towards the end of ‘Good Trouble’ Season 2B.

The new development in Davia and Dennis' story arc has us waiting with bated breath to witness them take off on a romantic journey if the series gets renewed for a Season 3.
