Jessica Tarlov slams 'The Five' hosts for claiming government spending bill a Dem ploy for corruption
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'The Five' hosts discussed the ousting of Kevin McCarthy once again on the show, pointing towards the many concerns that have supposedly been left unattended in the House's focus on the speakership.
While the hosts on the show slammed the Democratic party for getting together against the former speaker, designated Democrat host Jessica Tarlov slammed them for suggesting that McCarthy's removal was not justified.
'The Five' hosts say McCarthy's ousting was a plot for corruption
The Fox News hosts on one of the most popular shows joined hands in calling the Democrats' efforts to keep the government open a strategy to fuel corruption.
Jesse Watters claimed that funding requests from the Blue Party were too inflated in accordance with their needs, noting millions of dollars of expenditure on bathrooms, parks, and other public services.
"Why are you spending so much money?" Watters questioned, "The donors give these guys money to get elected and then they take our tax dollars and then they just plow it back to the donors in the form of pork."
The Fox News host claimed this to be the reason why Democrats were adamant about having McCarthy off the speakership, who was demanded by Matt Gaetz to cut short the government spending.
Katie Pavlich also came in to join this theory as she suggested that the Democrats "stressed about keeping the government open so they can keep that moving".
Tarlov later argued these points as she pointed out the real importance of saving the government from a shutdown.
Jessica Tarlov on why dodging the shutdown was necessary
"What happens when the government shuts down, which is the most important part, is that federal employees are not paid," Tarlov explained, but co-host Pavlich interrupted her to suggest that the employees would be paid as soon as the spending bill is back in order.
To that, Tarlov responded, "It doesn't matter! If you live paycheck to paycheck, waiting however long it takes to get that money does not help you."
The Democrat host also said the debate over the shutdown had gotten skewed because of divided takes from supporters of the two parties.
"The bothsidesism about this is astounding," Tarlov added, "Kevin McCarthy has a lot of gall getting up there and blaming Democrats for this who, first of all, bailed him out over the weekend to get the continuing resolution. And then, he didn't even bother to call them up and say 'What can I do to get your vote?'"
She reiterated that former Speaker McCarthy could have retained his position in the House by getting the moderates to side with him after they dodged the shutdown.
