NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Many, including ousted former speaker Kevin McCarthy, have called for the strengthening of security at the Southern Border with concerns about terrorism surging. This has become the center of political discourse following the Israel-Palestine war.

Fox News host Jessica Tarlov, in a recent appearance on 'The Five', came in to argue that the border is not a case of worry at the moment.

Jessica Tarlov explains why Southern Border is not a concern for terrorism

Tarlov, who takes the liberal seat on the otherwise conservative news show, acknowledged why the open Southern Border might be concerning.

She said, "You never want to be on the wrong end of a declarative statement like 'X is the biggest threat', right? Because something else can show up."

She gave examples to explain her point, Before 9/11, we didn't think there would be terrorists that got pilot's licenses and were hiding out in and around us and then were able to take nearly  3000 lives. But that's the expectation now that something like that is possible."

She then said, "So, of course, it is possible that somebody, God forbid, could leak through on our border."

However, she then brought up data that she believed proved against the border inciting any kind of terror attacks.

"It is important to consider the facts about this, at least up until this point," Tarlov said, continuing, "So, I went back and looked at a testimony from someone who works at the CATO Institute."

Talking about the testimony, she said, "He went before the Sub-committee on Immigration Integrity, Security and Enforcement in September. He said zero Americans have been injured or killed in terrorist attacks by illegal immigrants or asylum-seekers who enter through the Southern Border."

She concluded, "Over the period of 1975 until 2022, the chance of being murdered in an attack by a foreign-born terrorist was one in 4.3 million per annum. That's just important to consider in all of this."

Jessica Tarlov says Biden's speech was only about Israel

Tarlov was the last one to get the baton after all her co-hosts had pointed out the ways in which President Joe Biden's Tuesday address about the Israel-Palestine conflict lacked. With references to the studies, she shed light on how the President had focused on solely showing his support for Israel.

Tarlov said, "I understand that you want certain things from President Biden. I don't necessarily think — this isn't cause I don't care about the border — that today's speech was about that."

She explained, "Today's speech was about Israel and [Biden] had just gotten off the phone with [Israel's PM] Netanyahu, who obviously expressed to him what his priorities were in terms of what he'd like to hear."

Tarlov stressed that her words don't mean to indicate that she doesn't care about the border but it was crucial to not inflate worries over matters that are not a real concern.

"Do keep that in the back of your mind as you say that now, like Kevin McCarthy, this is the number one threat. Based on the data it absolutely isn't," the Fox News host concluded.
