NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fox News host Jesse Watters urged for the defunding of prestigious universities in America that have allowed students and universities to hold pro-Hamas and pro-Palestine demonstrations. 

While on his primetime show, the anchor slammed the universities for staying silent on the Israel-Palestine war and not taking action against these protests.

The Fox host explained why the higher education institutes have proven to be a weakness for the country. 

"The Jihadist attack in Israel revealed a huge soft spot in America: our universities," Watters said.

"Every day since Hamas murdered over a thousand Israeli civilians, students and professors have been cheering on terrorism. And this isn't happening at fringe schools. This is happening in the Ivy Leagues," he added. 

"The academic class thinks that Hamas are freedom fighters and Palestinians are victims. But Hamas and the Palestinians, they have a lot in common," the host claimed.

"They have the same beliefs and sleep under the same roofs. No Palestinian leader has stood up and condemned Hamas' attack. They haven't demanded Hamas release hostages. It's been 10 days...nothing," Watters added.

Watters also noted that the Palestinian government, especially the President, has accepted Hamas as representative of their people. 

"The Palestinian President was quoted as saying 'Hamas doesn't represent the Palestinian people.' But then he called the paper furious and told them to take the quote out. He never said that! 'Hamas does represent the Palestinians,' he said."

Jesse Watters urges donors to pull funding from Ivy Leagues

The Fox News host pointedly attacked the pro-Hamas demonstrations led by professors.

Watters called pro-Hamas Cornell University professor Dr Russell J Rickford a "lunatic" for his radical left views, referring to his previous statements about white supremacy during the Black Lives Matter movement. 

"So these professors are paid to poison young minds and they are in the top jobs in the professional class," he said, "No one was stopping them until now."

The host then said that many rich donors have decided to put an end to their funding to these universities. 

"Some of the richest people in the world are saying that they are done donating to these schools. Huge foundations are telling Harvard that if they don't cut it out, no more checkbooks. They could lose half a billion."

He went on to say, "And at UPenn, home of the Penn Biden Center where Joe Biden stashed classified documents and was giving a fake professor gig, they are losing cash too."  

Watters concluded his piece by saying, "There are consequences of being pro-terrorist in this country...We have to defund these schools and then we have to investigate the professors."
