NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: President Joe Biden made a historic move as he joined the UAW (United Automobile Workers) picket line with the autoworkers who have been on strike to demand better wages.
He became the first POTUS to show active support on the picket line while holding the office.
However, on September 27, Jesse Watters took to X to slam the President for what he thought was a completely staged act of showing his support to the union workers.
He also seemed to find an issue with Biden's short speech that could be counted down to a few seconds over a minute.

The Fox News host suggested on his 'Primetime' show that Biden's decision to show support for union workers was merely a publicity stunt and nothing else.
He also precisely pointed out the seconds for which Biden addressed the protesting workers, which reportedly stands to be more than what any other President has done to date.

"Today, the President flew directly over East Palestine to march in a picket line with union workers who are getting reined by his green policies," Watters said, "The most pro-union President in history spent 87 seconds making a speech to the auto workers."
Watters also thought that the POTUS made the strike appearance "about himself" as Biden pointed out that this was his first time joining a strike as President, while he had done the same multiple times before joining the office.
During his speech, the President defended the autoworkers who stepped down from providing their services and went on a major strike that is set to affect the auto manufacturers greatly.
The protest was outside a GM facility in Michigan where hundreds of autoworkers are employed.
“You’ve heard me say many times: Wall Street didn’t build this country,” Biden had said, as reported by The New York Times.
He further said, “The middle class built this country. And unions built the middle class. That’s a fact. Let’s keep going. You deserve what you’ve earned, and you’ve earned a hell of a lot more than you get paid now.”

Jesse Watters claims Joe Biden's picket line appearance was staged

Watters also went on to question why Biden was using a bullhorn to address the union workers when there was "no one there." The Fox News host claimed that it was all for "stagecraft."
However, it is to be noted that the bullhorn was handed to President Biden by one of the UAW protestors to address the many workers present there.
"Biden's focus isn't on the forgotten man," Watters said, "It's on the man who keeps forgetting: himself. Blacks, union workers, Biden has lost his base. So now, they just have to keep him from falling on his face."
Biden's picket line appearance is a major move made by him ahead of the planned and announced attendance of former president Donald Trump, who is set to join the UAW protests in Detroit while he will remain absent from the second GOP debate.
