Fox News host Greg Gutfeld defends pro-Hamas university students being labeled unemployable
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fox News host Greg Gutfeld called out young American college students who came out with an anti-Israel stance, discussing the “real world” impact it may have on their lives.
In addressing the blacklisting of such students as potential employees by major corporate organizations, Gutfeld said on 'The Five' that they have “every right not to hire someone” based on the person's beliefs.
Greg Gutfeld attacks university spaces for 'mind virus of identity politics'
The Fox News host argued that higher education institutes create spaces that become the origin of opinions such as criticism of America itself.
"The campus is ground zero for this mind virus of identity politics," Gutfeld said. He continued, "It really is a trade school for vicarious terrorists who can indulge in the splendors of the West with their iPhones and WiFi as they egg on its own destruction."
He declared, "We are seeing young people argue against the existence of the very country they live in."
He then moved on to discuss students from prestigious institutes like Harvard and NYU, whom Bret Baier mentioned while introducing the topic, and them coming out with opinions that speak against Israel, holding the country "entirely responsible for the bloodshed" in the current state of war in the region.
Greg Gutfeld slams pro-Hamas students who blamed Israel for ongoing war
Here, the case is of a student blaming Israel for the Hamas attacks that led to a full-blown war, resulting in the brutal killing of thousands of people from both Israel and Palestine. The NYU law student in question lost a job offer for publicly expressing her anti-Israel views, according to Insider.
Gutfeld went on to say that this move had nothing to do with suppressing the right to free speech by the student.
He declared, "This is not about limiting free speech. It's about private entities deciding not to employ the ghouls who support beheading babies," the show host said.
He explained his point further, "Let me put it this way, in a more direct way. Do Jewish parents or any parents have the right to know about the post of a pro-Hamas student that they might consider as a babysitter? Would you want that person around your family? Of course not!"
He concluded his thoughts, "You have every right to not hire somebody because of their beliefs."
