NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'Fox & Friends' host Steve Doocy once again chose to speak his mind as he called out former President Donald Trump for being possibly "afraid" to join the debates.

Trump has so far stubbornly refused to participate in the GOP debates, or in debates at all, given his large lead over his fellow red party candidates and the POTUS itself.

Doocy brought up the case of the GOP leader who is reluctant to go on the national platform while his multiple charges remain unresolved.

Steve Doocy suggests Donald Trump is afraid of debating

In referring to a Wall Street Journal Editorial Board piece titled '' Doocy entertained the idea of the former president's reasons for not participating being different from what he had said.

Referring to a Wall Street Journal editorial article titled 'Why Is Donald Trump Afraid to Debate?' Doocy floated the idea that the former president's reasons for not attending were different from what he had said.

"It talks about how he’s got a big lead, but he’s acting as if he won," the Fox News host discussed the WSJ opinion.

"The last line is 'Trump’s advisers may be telling him he should appear, lest he says something that hurts his legal defense," said Doocy.

Doocy, agreeing with the piece, said that Trump's holding back for the sake of his legal issues has become his weakness rather than his strength.

"He'll have to answer those questions eventually: What is the former president afraid of?" he questioned, "Because everywhere I go when I talk to people about the debates, they say they really like to see what he has to say."

Doocy has maintained a very ambiguous but clearly critical stance on Trump recently and as usual, his fellow co-hosts who have been nothing but loyal supporters of the former president, jumped in to confront the Fox News veteran's argument.

Steve Doocy attacked by co-hosts for questioning Donald Trump

'Fox & Friends' has recently made an addition to the curvy couch with the young host Lawrence B Jones but that just means more people Doocy has to take more slamming for being critical of Trump.

"Donald Trump and afraid don't add up ever in anything, period," Kilmeade cut Doocy off as Jones laughed in the background, "The conversation stopped there."

On Doocy bringing up the question again, Kilmeade simply said that "he is up by 40 points."

"I think part of it has to do with he might say something that could imperil him," Doocy remained on his previous argument.

Jones first mocked his take by sarcastically repeating his sentence and pointed out that Trump has so far been doing things regardless of whether he had been prohibited or not.

"I think his attorneys have advised him to not do anything, don't tweet anything, don't go to Truth Social, and he continues to do it," the new host said.

"And it's problematic when you are running for President," Doocy responded.

Ainsley Earhardt closed off the conversation by again bringing up poll numbers that have been in favor of Trump so far.
