Former Republican VP Dick Cheney has made it clear that he is all for taking precautions and wearing a mask amid the coronavirus pandemic. Cheney's daughter, Liz, had taken to social media to post a picture of her father wearing a face mask during the ongoing coronavirus crisis. POTUS Trump had been reluctant to wear a mask and ignored the advice of public health experts, according to CNN.

While posting the picture, Liz threw shade at the manhood of people who refuse to sport the masks in what seems to be a jab at Trump. On Friday, June 26, Liz tweeted, "Dick Cheney says WEAR A MASK. #realmenwearmasks." Click to see the picture here. Former President George HW Bush's Secretary of Defense sported a tough cowboy look in the picture and was seen in a tan Stetson hat along with his face mask. Soon enough Cheney's name was trending on social media with many praising him.

One such supportive user shared, "Thank you @Liz_Cheney. I don't often agree with you or your father, but I really appreciate you both for creating and sharing this post. I hope you are able to have some influence over others and positively impact their health." Another wrote, "Despite not agreeing much with the former VP. This is one where I wholeheartedly agree with! Wearing mask is a health issue, not a partisan issue."

"People still not wearing masks this far into the pandemic are probably lost causes if they haven't been convinced by now," another social media user commented. "He's my idol! Been wondering about him. So happy to see that he's in good spirits. Looking younger and younger. Godspeed His Excellency!" wrote a Twitter user. As a result of the post, the hashtag '#realmenwearmasks' started to trend. Actor Ken Olin also retweeted Cheney's picture wearing a mask and wrote, "If Dick Cheney isn’t with you, there’s nowhere left to go. You’re at the end of the evil highway @realDonaldTrump. You’re so f**ked up even evil wants no part of you."

Rantt Media Editor in Chief also commented on the same and wrote, "Today, Dick Cheney and Mitch McConnell backed wearing masks. Even two of the most sinister conservatives in modern history support wearing masks. This is NOT a partisan issue folks. Trump just doesn't want to smudge his face makeup. Don’t listen to him. Wear a mask you maniacs."

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that everyone "should wear a cloth face cover when they have to go out in public, for example to the grocery store or to pick up other necessities." Donald Trump was called out across social media for his reasons for canceling a planned golfing weekend at his club New Jersey. Trump had tweeted, "I was going to go to Bedminster, New Jersey, this weekend, but wanted to stay in Washington, DC to make sure LAW & ORDER is enforced. The arsonists, anarchists, looters, and agitators have been largely stopped."

Many social media users slammed him and took to the comments section. One such user wrote, "What are you going to do? Walk the streets with your tear gas and shoot it at people? Nah, you’ll just stay in your bunker, #bunkerb***h."

While one user shared, "Oh, f**k off. We all know you’re eating chicken nuggets and a pudding cup in the basement bunker," another wrote, "oh please, you'll be in your bunker spider hole all weekend. do you have any idea just how ridiculous you sound? just golf, bro."
