Former Uber driver blames 2016 shooting spree on 'devil' app which 'guided' him to kill unsuspecting people
Former Uber driver Jason Dalton, who pleaded guilty to killing six people and injuring two others after he went on a shooting rampage in Kalamazoo, Michigan, reportedly blamed the massacre on the ride-sharing app, claiming the "devil" app "guided" him to kill unsuspecting residents, according to interrogation tapes obtained by ABC News '20/20'.
Dalton, during the interrogation in 2016, told investigators that he had been working for Uber for less than a week and found something unusual about the app. "The minute that I logged on, to be honest with you, I don't know what happened," he said, adding "I know you guys are going to have a hard time believing this, but it literally took over (my) mind and body."
LIFE SENTENCE: Jason Dalton, who fatally shot six strangers while driving for Uber, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after people gave victim impact statements, including Laurie Smith, whose husband and son were victims. https://t.co/mqYYT4TVkR pic.twitter.com/lNZr5CcKGw
