Former President Donald Trump labels news outlets ‘corrupt’ as he appears on ‘Tucker on X’
BEDMINSTER, NEW JERSEY: On August 23, Tucker Carlson made an announcement on X, formerly known as Twitter, that at 8:55 pm ET, 5 minutes before the GOP debate, Donald Trump would be on an interview on Episode 19 of ‘Tucker on X.’
As promised, Trump and Tucker sat together and discussed a plethora of topics in a span of 46 minutes and 12 seconds. The former president explained his absence from the GOP debate and took a dig at news outlets like MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News.
Donald Trump believes news outlets today are “corrupt”
Tucker Carlson mentioned on ‘Tucker on X’ that Donald Trump had previously spent a lot of his time on television and asked, “Do you think television is declining?”
Trump mentioned cable TV, stating, “I think cable is down because it has lost credibility. MSNBC, or as they say, MSDNC, is so bad, it’s so wrong what they write, and what they do, and what they say.”
He added, “It’s you know, it’s fake news, as I say. I think I came up with that term, I hope I did, because it’s a good one. It’s not tough enough anymore. It’s corrupt news.”

The former president continued, “So you have MSNBC, and you have CNN who’s absolutely doing no ratings at all. I mean, they’re dead, but they’re doing none because they don’t have credibility, they really don’t have credibility.”
Donald Trump believes Fox News made a terrible move
Donald Trump also mentioned Fox News, where Tucker Carlson was fired from in April this year, and his coveted 8 pm slot was taken by Jesse Watters.
Trump said, “Fox is way down, as you know, and the good old days are long ago. I will say this. It could come back but they just don’t have a lot of credibility.” Trump also briefly reflected on Tucker’s departure from Fox News.
“Tucker, you know that perhaps better than anybody. I think it was a terrible move getting rid of you. You were number one on television, and all of a sudden you were…we’re doing this interview, but we’ll get bigger ratings using this crazy forum that you’re using than probably the debate, our competition.”
Tucker did not respond to Trump’s comment and swiftly moved on to the next topic as the pair began to discuss fellow GOP candidates.
