Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton welcomes third child with husband Marc Mezvinsky
Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton became a mother of three on Monday, June 22, after she gave birth to a baby boy and broke the good news on Twitter.
Chelsea took to Twitter, saying: "This morning we welcomed our son, Jasper Clinton Mezvinsky. We are overflowing with love and gratitude and can’t wait to introduce him to his big sister and brother."
Chelsea and her husband Marc Mezvinsky, a hedge-fund executive, have two other children: four-year-old Charlotte, and her three-year-old brother Aidan. The pair married in July 2010.
The daughter of former president Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Chelsea, announced her pregnancy in January, sharing that the couple was excited to add a new member to their family this summer.
"Marc and I have loved watching Charlotte be such a wonderful big sister and we’re excited to watch Aidan become a big brother!” she wrote on Twitter. “We cannot wait to meet our newest addition later this summer.”
The former first daughter also responded to a fan, saying that her parents were also excited to become grandparents to another little one.
Hillary Clinton, reshared the exciting news on Twitter on Monday, adding, “Sharing some happy news this morning! Bill and I are so thrilled.”
Chelsea, while talking to ET in 2016, about how her mother influenced her parenting, said: "My daughter, I find myself giving her ridiculous praise for doing things like putting the top back on the cereal container. I'm like, 'Oh Charlotte, that was so good. Thank you for putting the top back on.' And she beams at me and I'm like, 'Oh my gosh, I'm just like my mother.'"
The mother of the newborn, while talking to PEOPLE in 2015, had said that becoming a parent had changed her world. "I didn’t know I could care more intensely about anything until I became a mom," she said. Somehow I love my husband even more, I love my parents even more,” Clinton said. “I feel even greater urgency about the work that I do, particularly around women and girls being a mom of a daughter.”
