After having been renewed for a second season, the Apple TV+'s space show 'For All Mankind' has set a release date. The show centers on space and weapons war between Americans and the Soviets set in the 80s and it portrays an alternate history where the US is not the country that sent the first man to land on the moon and Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin are just the first Americans to land on the moon. Not just that, the second season will also see how NASA has progressed after having found traces of water on the moon.

Release date

The second season of Apple TV+ original is slated to release on February 19 and can be streamed.

Plot

Season 1:

The first season of the show centered on US and USSR's space war, where the two countries battled to be the first to land, the first to set up a military base and even the first to find a water source on the moon. The US might have failed to land on the moon first, but it does manage to find the water source before the Soviets, and even set a military base on the moon. Following this, the Soviets try to infringe on the area where the US has found a water source, resulting in a global conflict. The season also introduced us to the main characters, the astronauts, their family members and we also see their lives change over time with each of them connected to different space missions.

Season 2:

The executive producer of 'For All Mankind', Maril Davis, confirmed on Twitter that they are filming season 2 currently. She wrote, "We’re filming S2 now. Well, not now exactly (it’s Saturday and the holidays) but we will resume filming in January!" However, as of now, details about the plotline of the upcoming episodes has not been revealed.

Trailers and teasers

The first complete trailer of the show was released on January 15 and it features our favorite characters back on the base and this time they are fighting a different war. The show is set much after the incidents of the first season and will introduce a new set of trainee astronauts --men and women -- who are being trained to go on missions to the moon. In the meantime, the Soviets have something sinister planned as they plan to introduce a new weapon. It depends on NASA to stand for peace and thwart all plans that the Soviets are concocting. The trailer also teases how Edward may find it in him to go on another mission after having lost his son during one.
