'For All Mankind' Episode 5's last shot was of a military base being flown onto the moon's surface two years after Molly Cobb (Sonya Walger) found proof of the existence of water on the moon. The first five episodes of the show mainly centered on a space war between the U.S. and the Soviet Union.

A race the Soviet Union won twice. The first man to land on the moon and the first woman to land on the moon were both from the Soviet Union. So when the U.S.'s mission Apollo 15 led by Edward Baldwin (Joel Kinnaman) with Molly successfully found proof of water, for the first time, it was their first victory.

Now that two years have passed, the next episode of the show is most likely expected to portray the consequences of successfully having set a military base on the moon. In 1972, the first U.S. woman astronaut landed on the moon under Nixon's presidency.

If you recall, he was also preparing for elections and continually disappointed by the poll numbers. So now, we may just have the chance to see NASA work with a new leader. It would be interesting to see if the show chooses a president from the real world, or if they finally veer away from reality to give us something truly alternative.

The show is also set at a time when the conversation about the Equal Rights Amendment was rampant. Seeing as 'For All Mankind' portrayed the first women astronauts to be trained by NASA to be sent on missions to space and dedicated a solid amount of screentime in doing so, we wonder what part Women's Rights will take up next on the show.

What we are most interested in, however, is to see what happens to the other astronauts. Danielle Poole (Krys Marshall), Tracy Stevens (Sarah Jones) and Ellen Waverly (Jodi Balfour). Ellen especially, since she managed to keep her sexual orientation a secret.

The most important question though is, what next? Now that NASA has got a huge victory under its belt, what are they aiming to achieve next and will the race still continue to be with the Soviet Union?

The next episode of 'For All Mankind' can be streamed on Apple TV+ Friday.
