George Floyd’s tragic death has led to protests and demonstrations across the nation, where people are coming out in large numbers to protest and bring justice to his family and the rest of the black community who have been subjected to racial discrimination for years. While many celebrities and media outlets are speaking up on the issue through social media with a few taking to the streets, social media influencer, comedian and YouTube fame B Simone had a rather different opinion about the ongoing issue to express on her Twitter, which has only earned her the wrath of the followers who now want to cancel her.

When her followers and other internet users noticed that she hadn’t uttered a word about the Black Lives Matter movement, she defended herself, saying, “I’m not living to please man I’m here yo please God at the end of the day i am a CHRISTIAN! I’m God fearing i have to answer to Him! I’m going to ask myself WWJD not what an angry black woman do! I am angry but i am also trying to be Godly” - (sic)

The above tweet obviously wasn’t well-deserved by her fans who were rather taken aback by her ignorance and decided to cancel her on seeing how obtuse she chose to be about an issue that is spreading like wildfire. Several fans have called her out for using her identity as a black person to carve a niche for herself in the industry and even gaining a huge number of followers, only to steer clear of the issue when her opinion could actually count.

One of the Twitter users wrote, “This b*tch B.Simone need to be slapped no cap. Got 1 mil & acting like it’s gone last you the rest of your life. She should’ve treaded lightly & stuck to making jokes.”

“B Simone and Desi canceled. How tf y’all scared to stand for something y’all portray and profit off EVERY single day....F*CK YALL!,” wrote another, referring to her fellow comedian Desi Bank’s tweet from earlier, which sparked a similar reaction for sharing a meme about the present-day protests and calling it a “crime”.

Meanwhile, another user slammed Simone, saying, “The B Simone thing might seem small but it’s actually a huge slap in the face...someone who branded herself as the loud, man obsessed black women. Don’t want to be vocal about a black man losing his life?”

Although Simone said in another tweet that she wouldn’t let Twitter validate her, when more and more followers expressed that they want to cancel her, she shared a picture of her latest charity work and wrote, “We changing the world one day at a time! Building the community, giving back and bringing health to the hoods! Thank you @19keys_ for your leadership. Today was beautiful”.

Reacting to this, one of the users wrote, “So now y’all wanna go outside just because people called y’all out that’s goofy af”.
