Hae-soo manages to survive and is admitted to the hospital in critical condition thankfully because Moo-jin decided to go with his instincts and pick her and Eun-ha up from Hyun-soo (Lee Joon-gi) and Ji-won's (Moon Chae-won) apartment, in 'Flower of Evil' Episode 15. The penultimate episode shows how the cops are trying their best to figure out who the accomplice really is, with Ji-won returning safely after being taken hostage by her own husband. After she claims that her husband is being framed by the real accomplice, the cops are bamboozled and begin to investigate Park Soo-young's death, and this time, they consciously decide not to fall for the traps that the real accomplice had set.

Even as they begin to collect evidence against Hee-seong without even realizing who the accomplice is, Hyun-soo is getting ready to face the accomplice by working together with Yeom Sang-cheol, the man who had provided both Hee-seong and Hyun-soo's father Do Min-seok with humans that they could kill with no consequences. So when Sang-cheol barters with Hee-seong over Jung Mi-sook who is still alive, he gets a deal. A lot of money is exchanged for Mi-sook so that Hee-seong can remain unidentified. However, what Hee-seong isn't aware of is the fact that Hyun-soo is lying in wait for him.

Sure, Hee-seong is smart so he managed to spread the poisoned powder all over the money that he had given Sang-cheol. He knows the man's characteristics and knows that the first thing he does after seeing a wad of cash is to sniff it as if it were a drug that he is addicted to. Once that is sorted, Hee-seong believes that all he had to do was take care of Mi-sook and just when he is about to capture her and take care of her, Hyun-soo pounces at him and beats him up. He beats him up until the man is left bleeding on the floor, begging for life. Hyun-soo is still not bloodthirsty and neither is he a psychopath like Hee-seong, so his objective is to reveal the truth and break free from the past and not to kill Hee-seong.

So Hyun-soo ties Hee-seong up and begins to find ways to collect evidence that can be used against Hee-seong in the court of law. However, he finds Ji-won's ID card in Hee-seong's pocket when he searches the man for the burner phone and that leads to Hyun-soo's worst fear coming true. The death of Ji-won caused because of him and when he attempts to reach out to her, he is unable to and so this leads to Hyun-so losing himself in grief and anger. He ends up attacking Hee-seong with all of this pent up emotions and falls right into the trap that Hee-seong set him up with. What Hee-seong doesn't realize is that the only person that Hyun-soo had ever come to love was Ji-won and her death would mean the end of the world as he knows it too.

While Hyun-soo struggle with controlling his anger and grief and sets out to hunt Hee-seong down, Ji-won and her team learn that the woman who collected the food delivery did not have a hearing impairment. They also figure out that the food that was found in her system during the autopsy and the one that was ordered is not the same. Jae-seop, Ji-won's senior also figured out that Mr Baek's domestic help died not after dinner but after lunch. So when she sees a woman leave Mr Baek's house, Ji-won quickly gathers that it was Hee-seong's mother and she also figures out that what this woman is doing is a mother trying her best to save her son.

Ji-won visits Hee-seong's house and learns that he is not home and has already left to meet Sang-cheol. She also learns that his parents do not know of his whereabouts and it is the call that Hyun-soo had finally made to confirm if his wife was really alive that leads Ji-won to his location. Will she make it in time to stop Hyun-soo from becoming the killer that his father had always wanted him to be, or will it be too late? Considering all the hallucinations that Hyun-soo is suffering from, including seeing an image of his father, anyone other than Ji-won will not be able to help Hyun-soo.

'Flower of Evil' will air on tvN on Wednesday and Thursday at 10.50 pm KST and can be streamed on Viki Global.
