Florida man stabs girlfriend multiple times, video calls her father asking for advice as she bleeds to death on the floor
MIAMI, FLORIDA: A man reportedly called his girlfriend's father on FaceTime after stabbing her multiple times and as she lay dying on the floor of his house.
According to a probable cause affidavit from Marion County Sheriff’s Detective John Lightlereport, Deangelo LeAndrew Shelton Clark, 30, called 20-year-old Kiara Alleyne's father, Sheldon, using her cellphone, as she bled out. He told her father that the mother of his 11-month-old daughter had a knife.
“I don’t. He has the knife,” Kiara then replied, countering his account, Ocala reported.
Deangelo then asked Sheldon what he should do after having stabbed the latter's daughter. When the victim's father told him to “call for help," he replied, “I can’t, because they will take the baby.”
Although the conversation over FaceTime was a brief one, Sheldon did get a glimpse of his daughter lying in a pool of blood. He made a 911 call at 2:15 am on September 11 and alerted the authorities of what he had witnessed. Before the deputies arrived at his house, Deangelo had already fled the scene of crime with his daughter, Jhené Clark.
Soon after, he handed the infant off to a relative before fleeing south. He was finally arrested on Wednesday in the Florida Keys after his black Mazda caught fire and he tried to break and enter into a house. The Monroe County sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a home burglary on Long Key and that was when they got involved in the case.
Detectives found a blanket or a cloth cover hanging from the bottom of the oven in the kitchen of the house, a bottle of charcoal lighter fluid near the front door and a strong odor of lighter fluid or some other accelerant in the air, suggesting that Deangelo planned to burn down the apartment.
On September 11, the suspect wrote on his Facebook page: "Now I must end my life just know she tried to kill me she walked into I’m srry (sic) to her family."
He remains in a Miami hospital, getting treatment for serious burns, and might be charged with burglary in addition to murder.
