BEAST MODE: Florida dad ROARS with outstretched arms to scare away black bear chasing his goldendoodle
DESTIN, FLORIDA: In an excellent display of thinking on one's feet, a man saved his dog's life from a bear that had entered their backyard. The incident went viral after the footage of the attack that was recorded from the home's surveillance camera was circulated on social media.
The video shows a woman coming out of the door and talking over the phone. She is then heard screaming in panic as she spots the bear enter their yard and chase their goldendoodle named Salomon. The dog looks clearly terrified as it rushes about trying to escape the wild animal. The woman runs towards the door, calling for help and then rushes towards the dog and the bear.

Soon after, a little boy and man can be seen coming out. Identified as Josh Martinez, then steps into the porch to scare the bear off. The resident of Destin, Florida, did not falter as he stood with feet firmly planted on the ground, making loud growling noises. His outstretched arms and attacking posture helped him appear menacing in front of the predator. He scares away the bear and ensures his wife, son and dog make it back inside the house safely.
Notably, bear attacks are exceedingly common across North America, especially in Canada and the US. These include dangers from both, grizzly brown bears as well as the American black bear. It is, therefore, imperative to follow safety precautions to safeguard oneself from fatal attacks.
A cyclist from Montana had fallen prey to a grizzly bear on July 6, 2021, in a relatively uncommon form of attack where the predator had been trained to seek out human food. The horrifying incident involved Leah Davis Lokan, who had been sleeping in her tent at the time of the attack. Her neck and spine were crushed under the weight of the humongous 417-pound grizzly.
In August, a French tourist visiting Norway was attacked by a polar bear when she was camping on a remote Norwegian Arctic island. The 40-year-old suffered injuries on her arm when a polar bear entered the campsite where she had been staying with 25 other people. Authorities fired warning shots to drive it away during which one of the bullets found the bear, wounding the beast.
