Carlos Lemont Jones: Florida man, 23, fatally shoots ex-GF 15 times for not answering his texts, calls
MELBOURNE, FLORIDA: A 23-year-old man has reportedly been arrested for fatally shooting his ex-girlfriend 15 times as she would not return his calls or his texts. Carlos Lemont Jones reportedly turned himself in after murdering Sha'Dayla A Johnson.
As per Fox 6, the incident took place on Tuesday, December 20, on Colbert Circle near East University Boulevard, according to police. Jones reportedly told the the police that he was "angry" Johnson would not respond to his calls or messages.

According to the affidavit, as Johnson was leaving for work in the morning, Jones shot her in the back 15 times right outside her home. According to Centre Daily Times, he drove to her house just after 7.30am as he knew she had to reach her workplace by 8am. Johnson's father, Torrance, reportedly told the police that he stepped out upon hearing the shots and saw his daughter lying facedown on the ground. He also saw Jones staring into the home.
Jones and Johnson lived together until they decided to call it quits after they had an argument two weeks earlier. Torrance reportedly told the police that Jones had been "continuously calling and harassing Sha'Dayla in efforts to get back with her," per Fox 6.
As per the outlet, Jones' mother convinced him to surrender himself to the police. While being questioned, he reportedly said that he bought the gun a week ago. He further stated that he had no remorse about what he had done and that if he had to do it again, "he would kill Johnson and her father."
As per Law&Crime, Jones is being held in Brevard County Prison for first-degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
