BOCA RATON, FLORIDA: A 21-year-old delivery man from Florida allegedly killed a 75-year-old woman with a hammer and then set her on fire in the Boca Raton area, according to reports. The man, identified as Jorge Luis Depre Lachazo, had come to the woman's house to set up appliances she had purchased from a Best Buy store.

Lachazo has now been charged with murder and arson for attacking the elderly woman.

The victim, identified as Evelyn Smith Udell, had reportedly called Lachazo on Monday to install a washer and dryer when the incident occurred. Reports state that the 21-year-old, after arriving at Udell's home, attacked her with a hammer, injuring her severely and then doused her with acetone kept in the kitchen and set her on fire.

A second delivery man who had accompanied Lachazo to install the appliances reportedly told authorities that he was outside the house making some work-related calls when he heard the screams.

When David Gonzalez ran inside, he found the woman lying on the floor with blood all over her body. Gonzalez, fearing for his own life, rushed out of the house, according to Times Now News.

Gonzalez said that the accused was behaving in a very strange manner and told him repeatedly that they needed to leave the place. Lachazo then fled the scene in the delivery truck they came in while Gonzalez was making a 911 emergency call.

When authorities arrived at the spot, they found the woman lying on the floor in her laundry room and her clothes were fully engulfed in fire. Police reportedly tracked down Lachazo and his truck and an officer said that he was shaking, sweaty and nervous when he was apprehended. Officers also noted that the hair on his legs was burned and he was covered in ash.

The accused reportedly confessed to killing Udell and setting her on fire. However, the motive for the murder has not yet been released. According to police, the accused also confessed to using cocaine and marijuana earlier in the day.

Reports state that Lachazo has been denied bail and charged with murder, arson, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on the person over the age of 65.
In a statement, Best Buy CEO Corie Barry said the company has fired the delivery man.
