A Florida man who beat a peeping Tom to death has now been charged with manslaughter.

30-year-old Victor Vickery was arrested Thursday before being charged with manslaughter in connection with the July 2, 2018 death of 57-year-old Asaad Akar, the Sun-Sentinel reports. Akar was apparently partially naked while peeping through the window as he watched Vickery and his girlfriend engage in sexual intercourse, Fort Lauderdale police said.

Vickery caught Akar red-handed and a fight broke out between the two, ultimately resulting in the voyeur's death.

Now, Vickery has been arrested and charged more than a year after the incident and is currently remanded in custody on a $100,000 bond as he awaits trial.

Vickery and his girlfriend Samantha Hobi were getting it on in the bedroom of her Fort Lauderdale residence when, according to the police report, the couple heard a scratching noise from outside their window. When he looked outside, Vickery saw Akar exposed outside of the window.

According to him, he had called authorities in the past to report a peeping Tom.

The men soon became embroiled in a violent altercation, prompting Hobi to call the cops. She can be heard in the three-minute 911 call recording repeatedly saying, "Tori stop. Tori that's enough."

During interrogation, Vickery claimed Akar lunged at him, got on top of him, and subsequently began choking him. According to the report, he kicked Akar and punched him "a handful of times" before the voyeur tried to run. Vickery then caught hold of him and held him down, he told investigators.

Responding officers found Vickery had dried blood on his hands and body. His right foot was swollen and bloody. Akar, who lay unresponsive, was rushed to Broward Health North hospital in Deerfield Beach, where they pronounced him dead within two hours. The cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma to his head and torso.

Sgt. Steven Novak wrote in his report that Akar had a history of arrests pertaining to prowling. According to the Sun-Sentinel, investigators wrote in Vickery's arrest report that they had found evidence indicating Akar "had been peeping into windows at several different addresses."
