'Crazy and classless': FAMU graduate faces severe backlash for posing NUDE on campus for graduation photos

A student who recently graduated from Florida A&M University (FAMU) is facing criticism for standing completely naked on the campus in Tallahassee in her graduation pictures.
 
In a social media post, Terica Williams said, "As I’m standing here with my Masters Degree at the tender age of 24, I am the living proof that clothes do not define you. I encouraged every body to embrace their bodies and step outside social norms."

The 24-year-old Terica Williams earned a master's degree in counseling education. Her July 30 Instagram picture included images of her standing in front of a statue of the institution's snake mascot, "Rattler." She sported a Medusa-inspired hairstyle and Christian Louboutin shoes. The post has now racked up over 48,000 likes.

However, several netizens criticized the young HBCU graduate's attitude to body positivity after she exposed her body in public. A user commented, "I wish you could’ve thought of other ways to represent body positivity. Maybe a sheet? A snake cover up? Anything but being booty ball naked on campus." A second person commented that the image was "crazy & classless."
"Why are you on campus naked bent over?" they added. A third one wrote: "Highlight your education, beauty, and your accomplishments NOT your naked body in front of a prestigious University."
 
Some even inquired whether the student intended to have her diploma revoked. A person wrote: "This isn’t okay! Cause now you working backwards wanting your degree revoked I’m so confused !?!" FAMU's vice president for student affairs, William Hudson Jr., stated that an investigation into this lewd incident was being conducted. In a tweet, Hudson wrote: "The university is aware of the picture taken and is currently investigating the incident."

According to WCTV, the university declared there would be a continuous watch over the area where the monument is placed in an attempt to stop the posting of more naked graduation pictures on campus.
 
Despite having a 3.8 GPA, Williams, who goes by "Ms. Venom," expressed how numerous people doubted her talents and IQ solely based on her clothing preferences. She wrote, "If you want FAMU to withhold my degree, then you’re the real snakes," persisting in justifying her decision to pose nude on campus. "How the people from the highest of seven hills praying on my downfall?! My degree was earned, not given. They cannot take it away," said Williams on Instagram.
