HGTV’s resourceful couple, Dave and Jenny Marrs, were back with a new episode of ‘Fixer to Fabulous’ Season 2 and were excited to renovate the house of Dana and John who lost everything after an unfortunate fire incident.

Centrally located amid beautiful greenery, Dana and John’s house was spacious and well ventilated. All it needed was a little sprucing up, Dave and Jenny style. The renovation couple decided to paint the outside of the house in dark gray to keep it in sync with the rest of the neighborhood. They reconstructed the outside in a way that they would get two outside decks.

One huge deck that they decorated with patio furniture and an open kitchen and another right outside the main kitchen separated by a window. They made a hang rack out of rowing handles to give it a very lakeside home look.

Inside the house, Dave made a huge countertop that also functions as a dining table for the kitchen by restoring pine wood from the house. The kitchen walls were painted blue and given new cabinets for storage.

As they moved to the living area, Dana spotted the painting that Jenny tried to restore for her. We saw John telling Jenny how his wife lost a painting given to her by her late uncle during the fire and Jenny thought she must incorporate it in some way inside their new home. The painting of two kids playing made Dana extremely happy.

Dave and Jenny also reconstructed the personal bathroom that was nonexistent before, it was spacious with stone tiles on the floor. Dana found nautical elements with the blue tiles on the walls and white flooring and found it very stylish.

The bedroom for the kids was very ideal. Jenny, being a mom of five, knows very well how to make space for a handful of kids. She gave the room bunk beds and storage area that could also serve as smaller beds for the kids. Dana and John loved how they redid their bedroom with modern fixtures and lights. They managed to make another spare room for guests as well as another washroom.

The living area was a work of art as Jenny made the decision to rip out the wall and give it a 15-foot glassdoor. It was worth the risk since the couple loved it and couldn’t believe it was going to be the home they were going to live in and make memories.

Watch ‘Fixer to Fabulous’ every Tuesday at 9 pm ET/PT on HGTV.
