Ivan L Moody, the lead singer of thrash metal band Five Finger Death Punch has announced that he will be donating hand sanitizers to charitable organizations for veterans to help them fight against the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Moody made the announcement via 'Moody's Medicinals', a health and wellness company he launched in 2019. The company specializes in both Cannabidiol (“CBD”) and non-CBD health and wellness products. The decision to begin a CBD line of products was rooted in Moody's own positive experiences, which included him finding he could manage his anxiety, PTSD, and OCD symptoms using the product. After he found discrepancies in the ingredients, quality, and potency across different CBD products, however, Moody decided to found Moody’s Medicinals and build a formulation that was of better quality.

As per the company's latest announcement, the company will donate thousands of their new CBD hand sanitizers to various veteran-led and veteran-serving charities across the US. Moody commented on the company's donations, specifically their choice to offer aid to veterans, stating "Many people are experiencing the uncertainty of this moment, and none more so than our veterans. Over 10% of our veterans have PTSD in a given year. We have to make sure we are keeping our veterans in mind during this difficult time."

One of the many organizations that will receive donations from Moody's Medicinals is 'Workshops for Warriors', a state-licensed, board governed, fully audited, and nonprofit school founded in 2008. The school was built around the aim of providing training and accredited STEM educational programs in addition to opportunities to earn third party nationally recognized credentials to veterans, transitioning service members, and other students, enabling them to be successfully trained and placed in their chosen advanced manufacturing career field.

Hernán Luis y Prado, the founder of Workshops for Warriors and a US Navy officer with combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, recalls, "I saw many of my fellow service members feeling lost with no path to a successful civilian life. I needed to change that."

It should be noted that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not evaluated the statements made regarding these products, including their efficacy, and therefore these products cannot be used to treat, cure, or prevent any disease. The sanitizers do, however, contain the CDC-recommended 70% alcohol ingredient for sanitization and no THC.

In addition to the donation to assist veterans, all of the company's previous customers who have purchased products via the Moody's Medicinals website will also receive a free CBD hand sanitizer spray. And on top of that, previous customers of Moody's Medicinals will also receive a CBD hand sanitizer for free with every new purchase they make of the company's other new product - Moody’s Soothies lozenges, a CBD vegan product available in multiple flavors.
