LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Becca Millstein is all set to pitch her tinned seafood company, Fishwife on 'Shark Tank' Season 15 Episode 10.

Many people love to eat fish and different varieties of seafood. However, some of them struggle to find seafood that is actually good in taste. The main aim of Becca is to provide customers with the best-tinned seafood.

Fishwife is a food company that is founded and run by women, with the goal of making ethically sourced, high-quality, and tasty canned seafood a common item in every household.

Millstein is ready to present her seafood company to the Sharks in the upcoming Episode 10 of 'Shark Tank' Season 15. In the next episode, she will try to leave an impact on the Sharks, including Mark Cuban, Kevin O'Leary, Daymond John, Lori Greiner, and guest shark Candace Nelson.

What is Fishwife?

Fishwife is a new Los Angeles-based company that sells canned fish. The company prides itself on offering healthy, affordable, and conveniently canned seafood. Their products include olive oil-soaked sardines from Spain and smoked albacore tuna caught in Northern California.

The founders of the seafood company believe that now is the perfect time to embrace tinned seafood. They focus on sustainable sourcing, female-centered storytelling, and stylish branding.

For those of you wondering, the term 'Fishwife' was originally used to describe the daughters or wives of fishermen who sold fish. Over time, it transformed into a derogatory term for women who were loud, foul-mouthed, and assertive.

Who is the founder of Fishwife?

Becca Millstein is one of the founders of Fishwife. Meanwhile, Caroline Goldfarb (not appearing on the ABC show) is the other founder. The idea for Fishwife was born during quarantine. The two ladies founded this seafood company in the year 2020.

During the early stages of the pandemic, Goldfarb and Millstein realized that there was a lack of affordable and sustainable tinned fish in the American market. They had been cooking all their meals at home during lockdown and had relied on tinned fish for their favorite snacks and dishes. This realization led them to consider launching a well-branded tinned fish product.

While having a chat with Vogue, Goldfarb said, "Tinned fish is the true fast food. There’s literally no easier or healthier meal that you can 'pop' in less than 30 seconds."

Goldfarb told the media outlet, "And while tinned fish is having a renaissance among foodies and chefs, we think, in a time when so many are returning to their kitchens and looking for ways to keep their meals delicious, affordable, and healthy, it should be a beloved staple in everyone’s pantry."

From there on, the duo dedicated long hours to gathering feedback on their idea, studying the worldwide fish market, and finding ways to obtain the fish. This involved participating in early morning Zoom meetings with canneries in Portugal and Spain.

In addition, they utilized their knowledge of European conservas, a traditional method of canning high-quality fish and seafood, gained from personal experience.

Millstein chimed in, "I lived in Granada, Spain for a few months, and fell in love with the artfulness. The whole experience seemed to represent a wonderful marriage of elevated cuisine, and a casual, relaxed way of enjoying food with others."

Goldfarb added, "I traveled to Portugal a couple years back, and remember my amazement when walking in Lisbon and Porto and seeing shops that displayed rows upon rows of gorgeously packaged tinned fish."

What excited them the most is how perfectly the concept aligns with the modern American lifestyle: sustainable, affordable, convenient, and offering numerous health benefits. Fatty fish like sardines and salmons are rich in heart-healthy omega-3s.
