Firefly Music Festival 2020: Billie Eilish, Halsey, Rage Against the Machine to perform but line-up upsets fans
The organizers for the Firefly Music Festival 2020 recently announced their full artiste line-up on January 28. Known as one of the biggest music and camping festivals in the United States, this year's Firefly Fest line-up will feature an eclectic mix of genres that cater to everything from pop and rock to rap and EDM — there is a little bit of something for everyone here. The music festival will be held over four days, from June 18 to 21, at The Woodlands of Dover International Speedway, a 105-acre festival ground in Dover, Delaware.
Some of the biggest names who will be performing at Firefly this time around are Billie Eilish, Halsey, Rage Against the Machine, Khalid, Blink-182, Cage the Elephant, Run The Jewels, Lil Dicky, Maggie Rogers, Illenium and Diplo. There are plenty more crowd pullers promised.
There's plenty of music on tap, with a nice, balanced mix of old favorites and hot new artistes who are expected to light up the Firefly festival. Some unhappy fans were clearly having none of it, however.
Once the line-up was revealed on social media, it provoked a severe backlash from fans, who were expecting a lot more juice and oomph from the festival organizers.
Most commenters seemed to be unhappy with the lukewarm line-up this time around, even though they are fans of the Firefly festival itself.
"Remember when firefly used to be good?" quipped one user. Another user posted: "Rest in peace firefly... good while it lasted."
One upset user said, "Nice joke where's the real one" while another one wrote, "Took so long to wait for this like I was so excited wtf is this bro."
Disappointment seemed to be the general consensus among the festival faithful, who think the festival has jumped the shark. But on the basis of this solid line-up, we still feel there is plenty of option to keep everyone entertained, if not completely happy.
