Kate’s ongoing battle tugs on heartstrings

If you have read the book by Kristin Hannah, the source material that ‘Firefly Lane’ is adapted from, you are most likely more prepared for what’s to come in Season 2 Part 2, compared to those who haven’t. There’s no denying that ‘Firefly Lane’ as a drama series heavily relies on bringing its fans to tears and evoking all kinds of emotions. 'Firefly Lane' Season 2 Episode 10 does exactly that, and it does it delicately and beautifully.

We see Kate’s battle with cancer as she is wonderfully taken care of by Johnny, Marah, her family, and literally every single person around her. However, the one person Kate wants by her side during this tough time is Tully. It’s almost ironic and cruel play by fate because Tully is all the way in Southern Antarctica, away from reality, and without any cell service. While the focus of 'Firefly Lane' Season 2 Episode 10 is largely on Kate dealing with chemotherapy, nausea, and being overwhelmed by those around her, the underlying tones all hint towards the desperation of needing her best friend.

Does Tully come back?

As much as Tully needed to be disconnected from her life back home, she couldn’t stay in Antarctica forever. More importantly, the creators couldn’t keep Tully and Kate apart for too long, because at this point, no one knows how much longer Kate has left. As soon as Tully is back to civilization, she notices 18 missed calls from Kate, and that can never be good news, can it? The first thing Tully does is make her way over to Kate’s house and we only catch the smallest of glimpses as the friends reunite but it is such a relief. This reunion was a long time coming!

You can stream ‘Firefly Lane’ Season 2 exclusively on Netflix from April 27, 2023.
